At Queen Eleanor, we use the White Rose Maths scheme as the backbone of our maths curriculum. It is a coherent programme of maths teaching that teaches pupils physical and visual ways to represent numbers to go alongside more traditional uses of numbers. It is designed so pupils secure the core number facts they need to be able to reason about properties and relationships between mathematical ideas. They then expand their understanding of maths by conjecturing, testing and generalising about properties of concepts and applying maths skills to solve problems.
If you are interested in learning more about what resources are used to explain concepts in maths, Please have a read of our calculations policy to see what the main methods are used in each year group.
