Supporting handwriting at home

At Queen Eleanor, we use Letter Join as our scheme for teaching handwriting. It begins in the Early Years, teaching pencil grip and fine motor skills, then develops into fluent, legible joined handwriting. Developing fluent and efficient handwriting is important so pupils can concentrate what they are writing. Writing legibly is also important so pupils can re-read their own ideas for editing and improving, as well as communicating clearly to another reader.
