Queen Eleanor Primary Academy Celebrates Silver Food For Life Award!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Queen Eleanor Primary Academy has been awarded the prestigious Silver Food For Life Award — a fantastic recognition of our whole-school commitment to healthy, sustainable food education.
This achievement reflects the incredible work happening across our school, from our kitchen serving freshly prepared meals to our children getting their hands dirty growing fruit and vegetables in our school grounds.
A special mention must go to Jaime Cunnington, who has led the development of our Forest School provision over the past two years and whose passion and dedication have been instrumental in securing this award. Jaime's work in connecting our children with nature, teaching them where food comes from, and embedding outdoor learning into everyday school life has truly set us apart. Through Forest School sessions, our pupils plant, nurture, harvest and even cook their own produce - bringing the journey from soil to plate vividly to life.
This award belongs to our entire school community - our wonderful staff, our enthusiastic children, and our supportive families who share our vision for healthier, happier futures.
We are already looking ahead to Gold, and I have no doubt that with the same teamwork and determination, we will get there!
We were also delighted to complete the final phase of the development of our outdoor learning area so we are very excited to realise our plans of providing students with a stimulating area that we have no doubt will enhance the forest school curriculum as well as provide our student with a calm and relaxing outdoor space to relax and unwind. We’d like to extend our thanks to Delapre and Far Cotton Community Council, who have supported us with two grants to help fund the work – and of course our own Creative Education Trust Site Team who have bought into the vision we have for our students and community.
