Family and Parent Wellbeing

At Queen Eleanor Academy, we believe that strong schools are built on strong partnerships — and the most powerful partnership of all is the one we have with our families.

Our school community is guided by the Creative Education Trust values of Ambition, Equity, and Opportunity, and these values are only truly brought to life when home and school work together. We recognise the vital role families play in shaping a child’s success and wellbeing, and we are committed to ensuring every parent feels welcomed, heard, supported, and valued.

Working Together, Always

Parents and carers are always welcome at Queen Eleanor Academy — not just for meetings or events, but into the heart of our school. We warmly invite families to visit lessons, attend performances, celebrate achievements, and take part in our community. We believe that transparency, trust, and open communication are the building blocks of a strong school–home relationship.

Your views are not only welcome — they are essential. We regularly seek parent voice through surveys, informal feedback, and open conversations. Whether you have a concern, an idea, or a suggestion, we want to hear it — because your insight helps us grow.

Supporting Every Family, Removing Every Barrier

We work hard to identify and remove barriers to learning, whatever their cause. We know that challenges don’t end at the school gates — and that no child can learn to their potential if their wider needs aren’t recognised and supported. Whether it’s financial hardship, additional needs, emotional wellbeing, or anything else, we don’t judge — we support.

For families of children eligible for Pupil Premium, we offer targeted academic and pastoral support, ensuring that funding is used to address individual needs and close gaps in opportunity.

We also run regular training, information evenings, and support sessions for families around:

  • Emerging needs such as online safety, mental health, and behaviour
  • Supporting learning at home – including curriculum evenings and workshops
  • Parenting support, including the Solihull Approach, which we will continue to offer. Because we know parenting is hard — there’s no manual, and every child is different. We're here to help, not to judge.

For families of children with additional needs, we offer bespoke support, practical resources, and regular communication. We also invite families into school for SEND-focused training and workshops, so that strategies at home and school work hand-in-hand.

A Community of Care

We believe that wellbeing is about more than services — it’s about belonging. When families feel included, listened to, and cared for, children thrive. We want every parent to feel that Queen Eleanor Academy is your school too — a place where you are always welcome, always heard, and always part of our community.

Whether you're attending a parents’ evening, volunteering for a trip, joining a workshop, or simply walking through our gates — you are part of something bigger: a partnership with shared goals, shared values, and shared pride in our children.

At Queen Eleanor Academy, we don’t just educate children — we walk alongside families. Together, we build a community where every child can feel safe, supported, and ready to shine.
