A Night to Remember: Our Students Shine at Young Voices!

After months of dedicated practice¸ Friday afternoon after-school rehearsals, and the disappointment of a weather-related postponement, the wait was finally, worth it - on Wednesday 26th February, our incredible students took to the arena stage as part of Young Voices, the world's largest school choir concert, and they were magnificent.

From the very first rehearsal, it was clear that something special was building. Week after week, our young singers threw themselves into learning the songs, perfecting harmonies, mastering lyrics and pouring their hearts into every note. When storms forced the original date to be postponed, there was understandable disappointment - but if anything, it only strengthened the children's determination. They came back to rehearsals with renewed energy, and that resilience shone through on the night.

An Unforgettable Evening

Stepping into the arena, the atmosphere was electric. Thousands of children from schools across the region filled the auditorium, united by music, and the effect was simply breathtaking. From the moment the lights went up, our students (as you can see from the pictures) were beaming - singing their hearts out, moving with confidence, and experiencing something truly extraordinary.

Young Voices is no ordinary school trip. It is a chance for children to stand on a professional stage, perform in front of thousands of people and feel the power of being part of something much bigger than themselves. For many of our students, this was their first time performing in an arena - and the looks on their faces and their enthusiasm following the event, told the whole story.

Why Events Like This Are So Important

Experiences like Young Voices are transformative. Beyond the music itself, children develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a sense of belonging. They learn that hard work and dedication lead to something wonderful. They discover that their voice - quite literally- has power and beauty. And they carry the memory of standing on that stage with thousands of others, creating something magical together, for the rest of their lives.

Music education has a profound impact on children's development — nurturing creativity, emotional expression, and self-belief. Events like Young Voices bring that impact to life in the most vivid and joyful way possible.

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to all the staff who supported, especially ¸to Mr Aldridge who led all of the rehearsal and who organised the trip and staff who gave up their evenings to make this happen. Thank you to every parent and carer who supported their child through the process — helping them practise at home, cheering them on, and sharing in their excitement. And most importantly, thank you to our amazing students - you made us so incredibly proud.
