School Closure Update

The Government’s decision to begin the phased re-opening of schools in England, from 1 June 2020, has been confirmed. We are pleased to be able to clarify the expectations and conditions for the first wave of school re-openings. We are also keen to reassure parents and carers of the diligence with which Queen Eleanor Primary Academy is implementing the detailed official guidance on social distancing, safeguarding and educational provision under these challenging conditions.

In addition to the vulnerable children and children and wards of key workers for whom school has remained open during Lockdown, the following groups are expected to return to school on Tuesday 2 June:

  • Pupils in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 and Year 6.

We anticipate that the following groups will return to school a week later on Monday 8 June, subject to risk assessment:

  • Pupils in Year 6

All other pupils will continue remote learning from home until the next phase in the lifting of restrictions.

General principles with which all parents and carers must comply:

  • No-one with symptoms to come to school
  • Maximum of one adult to accompany any child to school
  • Families to comply with staggered arrival and departure arrangements and access points (specified in the letter to each parent/carer)
  • No gatherings of parents at the entrance or around the school perimeter
  • Avoid use of public and shared transport where possible
  • Clothes worn at school to be washed daily if possible

We look forward to welcoming some of you back very soon.
