The Department for Education has issued guidance on the phased re-opening of schools in England, starting on 1 June 2020 at the earliest. The actual re-opening date is yet to be confirmed.
Parents and carers are asked to remember that the Government’s decision remains subject to the five tests being met (relating to NHS capacity and the continued suppression of Covid-19). This means the guidance could change in the next days and weeks.
We expect to confirm by Friday 29 May that pupils in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 will be the first to return to school. In the meantime we are keen to reassure parents and carers of the diligence with which Queen Eleanor Primary Academy is implementing the detailed guidance provided by the Department on social distancing, safeguarding and educational provision during these challenging times. When school does re-open, please anticipate that arrangements will be different from those that the children experienced prior to the current closure period.
School remains open for vulnerable children and children and wards of key workers. All other pupils will continue remote learning from home until the next phase in the lifting of restrictions.
