Our Admissions arrangements follow those set out by our Academy Trust and follows the procedures outlined by Northants County Council. This is reflected in our Admissions Policy. School Curriculum

In Early Years and our KS1 classes we have a daily phonics lesson where we learn the forty four letter strands and the letter shapes that represent them. We use Letters and Sounds and Read Write Inc to support our teaching.

We are an ECAR (Every Child a Reader) school. We employ a reading recovery teacher who supports children in Year One with their reading. Through this scheme we also have Boosting Reading Potential where children throughout the school are selected to read with an adult on a frequent basis to help develop their confidence in reading.

We aim to inspire all of our children to develop a passion for reading.

Pupil Premium

What is it?

The Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools for the specific purpose of boosting the attainment of pupils from low-income families.  Funding is based on children registered for a free school meal and children that have been in care for more than six months.  Schools can access funding for any child who has been registered for a free school meal at any time over the previous six years even if they are no longer claiming them. 

Why has it been introduced?

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. Whilst schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit, schools are required to publish online information about how they have used the additional funding.
