Headteacher's Blog

I hope you have enjoyed the sunshine that we have had this week. It has been nice for the children to get out onto the field a little and we are looking forward to more of the same in the coming weeks – providing the good weather returns!

I’ve had a letter this week informing me that the school will be used again as a polling station for the general election on Thursday 8th June. I’m afraid that this means that we will need to close the school on this day. Unfortunately, I am unable to turn down this request. Please accept my apologies for any difficulties that this presents.

Next week, on Friday 19th May, we have our Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) assessment. We try to do all that we can to be an inclusive school and look forward to receiving further accreditation for this. If any of you would like to come and speak to the IQM assessor on behalf of the parents, please let me know.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have had a couple of incidents where parents have approached one another on the playground about things that have taken place in school. Please could I ask you to always contact the school about such matters? You can either speak to your child’s class teacher or get in touch with me. It is really important that parents and the school work together to keep your children safe and keep the school community a pleasant place to learn.

Finally, I’ve been asked to let you know that Amey are looking to recruit new school cleaners. If you are interested, please speak to Mr Brown, our site supervisor or call 07837486596.
